I’m a married mum of three wonderfully chaotic kids, which means our home is constantly evolving. Between school runs, DIY projects gone slightly sideways, and an ever-growing collection of throw pillows, I’ve learned that creating a home you love doesn’t require a huge budget or a degree in interior design. It just takes a little creativity, a lot of heart, and the willingness to try things out.

My Story

My passion for home decor started long before I had a blog. As a young girl, I’d rearrange my bedroom furniture just to see how it felt with a fresh layout — much to my parents’ bewilderment. That curiosity never really left me.

When my husband and I bought our first home together, I threw myself into making it feel special — on a very real, very tight budget. I scoured charity shops, repurposed old furniture, painted walls three different shades of the same colour (a rite of passage, honestly), and slowly turned a blank canvas into somewhere that felt like us.

After years of friends and family asking me for advice — “How did you style that shelf?” “Where did you find that lamp?” “What colour is that wall?” — I decided it was time to start sharing it all properly. And so, The Decor Avenue was born.

Life Behind the Blog

When I’m not writing posts or rearranging furniture for the fifteenth time, you’ll find me chasing after my three kids, drinking a cup of tea that’s gone cold (again), or wandering around a home store far longer than any reasonable person should.

My husband is endlessly patient with my “just one more cushion” habit, and our home is — at any given moment — somewhere between Pinterest-perfect and gloriously lived-in. I think that’s exactly as it should be.

I believe a home is never really finished. It grows with you, changes with your family, and reflects who you are right now. That’s what makes it so special.
